Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is going to commence in March and the bidding for the same is declared to be conducted on 19th December 2024 in Coca-Cola Stadium, Dubai.
The IPL retention deadline was held on 26th November but it was extended up to December 12. As the Board Of Council For Cricket In India (BCCI) declared its scheduled date for IPL Auction 2024, all 10 teams have announced the list of retained and released players. You must know that every time, some players are released and retained in the IPL and are then auctioned in the forthcoming IPL Auction 2024.
This year, IPL retention day has witnessed the release of several players. An aggregate of 85 players are released from the individual franchisees. One of the surprising movements is the retention of Hardik Pandya by Gujarath Titans, amid the rumors about his return to Mumbai Indians, his former team.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was retained by the Chennai Super Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants are presumed to retain K. L. Rahul. Mumbai Indians released England player Jofra Archer and RCB has released about 11 players, including Harshal Patel, Josh Hazelwood, and Wanindu Hasaranga.

This time IPL Auction 2024 is being conducted for the first time outside India. This time’s IPL Auction is being scheduled in Dubai’s Coca-Cola Stadium, on 19th December at 1 pm in Dubai (2.30 pm IST).
Ahead of BCCI’s confirmation of IPL Auction 2024, all 10 teams have ascertained the list of released and retained players. This year around 85 players have been released from their respective teams and about 173 players have been retained by the teams. The released players are also traded by other franchisees.
